1. What made you join SRLA?

I decided to join SRLA because of the fact that as a runner I wanted to challenge myself not only physically, but mentally as well. By being able to run and complete 26.2 miles it seemed as if it were something that can change a personal perspective on life. Other runners inspired me to join as well because of the fact that I believed that if he or she could do it, why not me?

2. What has been your most memorable moment with SRLA so far?

Many of my memorable moments in life have been possible by the fact that I decided to join SRLA. Not only has this program given me the opportunity to bond with more of my teammates, but this program has allowed and has helped me to complete the LA Marathon. Looking back twenty or maybe even seventy years from now, running the LA Marathon will be the most memorable moment with SRLA. By being able to complete what once seemed to be the impossible in life, it has opened my mind on how much of the things in life are  just one step away.

3. What grade are you in and what is your favorite subject?

I am currently a sophomore attending Bravo Medical Magnet High School. If I can choose my favorite subject, I would have to say XC, but academically it would be Chemistry.

4. What other hobbies aside from running do you have?

From what I can recall, I have always enjoyed outdoor activities. My favorite sport other than running is basketball. Currently, I have a great interest in friends and music, and what you would typically find in an average teenager.

5. Who is the most important person in your life and why?

As I was running my first marathon in 2006, it was the thought of my mom that inspired me to continue running and achieve a certain time goal. The most important person in my life will and always has been my mom. Unlike many other teenagers, I can say that I have a very open relationship with her. I believe that she is the one person who actually knows and cherishes me for who I am, no matter how disappointing matters can get.

6. Where is your favorite place to run?

As a runner, I enjoy a little adventure and scenery in my runs, which is why JPL is my favorite place to run.

7. What do you see for your future?

My current goal in life is to become a cardiologist, or something in the medical field. I definitely do picture myself running in the future, although it may or may not be on a competitive level.

1. What made you join SRLA?

My friends and my teachers. I always wanted to run the marathon since I had always seen the runners run past by corner so I wanted to join SRLA.

2. What has been your most memorable moment in SRLA so far?
All of the races have been memorable. Also the people I have met and the practices with my group.

3. What grade are you in and what is your favorite subject?
I'm in the 11th grade and my favorite subject is math.

4. What are your hobbies aside from running?
I draw and am interested in other sports like football, track and field, cross country, soccer and basketball.

5. Who is the most important person in your life and why?
The most important person in my life is my Mom. She is always there for me and my brother. My Mom is a hard worker and she gives me the best education that she can. She gives me advice and works hard to keep me in school and not to do drugs.

6. Where is your favorite place to run?
Pierce College because it is a hard course but I also like Santa Monica beach because it is close to the ocean and there is a long trail and and fresh air. I also like getting in the water to cool off.

7. What do you see for your future?
I want to be either a PE teacher or an electrician. My goal is to go to college, and then get a good job. Maybe still run with SRLA.
