1. Why did you join SRLA? Because my brothers were
involved in the program , and I saw how much they enjoyed it so when my turn came up I wanted to get involved too. Last year
was my first year doing the program and I was our fastest female runner as a 7th grader.
2. What do you enjoy most about SRLA? The friendships and the PAL staff.
3. What is your favorite subject in school? All subjects - I just like going to school.
4. What other hobbies do you have? Camping, swimming, and spending time with my family.
5. What sort of career do you hope to have someday? I want to work with kids
6. What do you feel is the biggest problem facing the United States and how would you solve it? Gangs
and Homelessness. I live in an area (Pico Neighborhood) where gang involvement is high, but with my family and friends support
we try to encourage other kids to get involved in their community; youth centers, volunteering, sports, etc. Another big problem
is the homeless, Santa Monica has a huge homeless population. When I go to the store they are always begging my family for
money, go to the Santa Monica Pier they are there, the Parks, even at the 3rd street Promenade. I don't know how I can solve
the Homeless issue. The only thing I can hope for is that my family and I can continue to have a roof over our head and food
on the table. Thanks for after-school programs like the Santa Monica Police Activities League (PAL) that help families if
they get in a crises.
